Today I stayed home and read so that I could be there when they delivered my NEW WHEELCHAIR!!! Woohoo! Man, it is NICE, too! I already love it. Dad looked at the invoice and oh my goodness are wheelchairs expensive! Holy cow!! Good thing insurance is taking over and that's it's maxed out. That worked out well.
I had Mom come get me after school because she was working a basketball game (the last one of the year) and Dad was working the concession stand at his school. I was tired of being home by then and wanted to get out of the house. So she came and got me and I helped her take money for the tickets. She loves how easy my wheelchair is to lift and disassemble to put into the car.
When we got home, she wasn't feeling very well, so Dad and I went to Chili's for dinner. Yum yum!! We split 2 appetizers. He also LOVED how easy the chair moved and how light it was. This will seriously help with loading and unloading.
I LOVE my chair because I can feel a difference when I use it. However, it is wider and we're going to have to do something about the door jambs... I'm thinking mission project for my Youth maybe. Ha! Not really, but we will have to widen a doorway and my bedroom door. Ugh.
I painted my own toes for the first time since before the accident today!! I'm proud of myself because I can reach them again. I had Mom and Sister paint them a couple of times in the hospital, but haven't done them myself since last August.
I was a good girl and stretched out my elbow and iced my knees today. Yeah, I'm getting better.

Day 172
Today I was laaaaaaazyy! I slept in and just caught up on some shows that just I watch (Whitney, New Girl, and Smash). I did finally get dressed about 3 so that I could go to therapy.
Dad took me to therapy and we did some arm stuff, but mostly worked on my leg. I did toe raises, squats, and hip lifts. I sat on the ball and held a smaller ball to straighten out my arm. I did heel and tow raises while sitting on the ball and leg lifts; that was haaaaard! I also lifted 5 pounds with my left arm!!
Next, Dad so graciously took me to a United Methodist Women's event. We had soup, salad, baked potatoes, and dessert with some college kids at the Wesley Foundation at TCU. It was fun!! No pics, though... Ha! We got to talk about all sorts of fun stuff!! I also found out that I have 2 more faithful readers!! Woot!
On the way home, Dad and I jammed out to some music and sang at the top of our lungs. When we got home, we watched some shows while I iced my knees. My PT thinks I might have some bone bruises on my knees from the impact of the collision of the dash board and I. Yay... So now I have to ice my knees 10 minutes everyday in addition to stretching out this arm of mine. I'm getting there...
P.S. Tomorrow should be a pretty awesome day!! We shall see.

Day 171
Today I slept in and stayed home. It was nice because I'm actually getting good sleep now. I did, however, make a craft today!
I have a clear phone cover and cut out scrapbooking paper to make custom covers!! They turned out really cute! I should have used an exacto knife to cut out the lens piece, probably, but it was ok. After I made my covers and watched some TV, I needed a nap. Haha!
After Mom and Dad got off work, Dad took me to therapy. I told my PT about my stair climbing and she was so happy for me! Then she measured my arm and was not so happy... I lost some movement by not stretching it out while on bed rest, but we got about 10 degrees back today. I'll have to be more diligent about stretching it. Ugh.
After therapy, Mom came and took me to my aunt's house. My aunt has a friend (who's more like family) who is going through the process for weight loss surgery and wanted me to talk to her. She was soooooo well informed and educated! It was nice of her to sit down and talk to me about everything and what options I have. She had a lot of literature (I'm a visual learner so that's good) that she let me read about each of the procedures. I still haven't made any decisions, except to at least start the process so I can have it if I want it. We talked, ate (healthy), drank (love my family), and laughed. My sister, aunt, grandma, family friend, and Mom were there.
I was talking to Mom last night about permanence. You think, "Permanent, yeah, I can do that." Actually, it's a fairly hard concept to grasp. My life has been PERMANENTLY changed. I will NEVER have a foot again. It's hard to realize that sometimes. Yes, I will walk. Yes, I will live a fairly "normal" life. But I will always be an amputee. Forever. It seems so daunting right now. I'll have a good 60 or so years to use a prosthetic. That's a loooong time. There will come a time that my life as an amputee will be longer than my life with my foot (in about 25 years). I think that's another reason I'm hesitating with the weight loss surgery. This is a PERMANENT ordeal; it can't be undone. Anyways... Food for thought. See what I did there? Ha!!

Day 170
This morning I got up and went to work with Dad. That's right, I spent another Monday (of all days) helping Daddy at school. Haha! I helped him do little stuff and found pictures to "aid" his lesson. I had fun!! While at school, I pulled some glass out of my hand... Ouch! There was a One Act Play this afternoon for the assembly and the kids did wonderfully!!
After school, Dad helped me (aka did it) flamingo someone's yard. We waved at her as we drove past and everything. She had no idea! Hahahahaha! She was NOT ready for that. She was a great sport, though.
When we got home, my sister was there. I helped her make some fonts out of icing for a website she's making. It was fun! We laughed and giggled and even made some progress!! I love my seester!
We spent the rest of the evening watching TV. By the way, I'm only a little sore after beating the stairs yesterday. Yeah, I'm awesome like that.

Day 169
This morning we got up and got ready for church. We had to get there early to set up for the fundraiser... Except we were late. Ha! My Youth did fantastic at the Super Bowl Casserole, though!!! Woohoo!
Next, I saw one of my friends who is a fellow youth director. She let me borrow some flamingoes for a fundraiser. I kind of started the fundraiser without actually having all of the flamingoes... Oops. So we had to go get them from her. She is awesome!!
We went home and had lunch and I worked on some Youth stuff. Emails, signs, planning, etc. Then Dad took me to the church so we could have the Super Bowl party.
I didn't ride the van, but I DID make it up about 4 steps!! Haha! I turned around and sat on the steps, and then scooted up them one at a time. It was HARD!! Then I had to stand up which was the hardest part. Dad was there, so he helped, but it took a loooooooot of muscles! That was definitely my exercise for the day. So then I hung out with the Youth and watched the game. We had snacks and drinks and laughs. It was great!! Then I had to get back DOWN the stairs which was waaaaay easier! I am the stair master!! Woot!! I found those stairs and kicked those stairs' butts!!!
All the kids went home, and so did we. I played on my tablet and went to bed. Great day!!!
And that's the stair step of life! (See what I did there?)
P.S. I did see "important" people, but no one who will see me tomorrow!! Ha! Check out my new shirt! <3

Day 168
Today was awesome!! We started out by going to the recycle place, and then HEB (my favorite store!). They were passing out samples so we munched as we went. I had forgotten I needed stuff for Sunday and so I had to get a few items. I also got sushi!! They had a HUGE shopping cart in the parking lot that I took a picture of- love it!
When we got home, I made some cute little marshmallow treats (http://www.thatswhatchesaid.net/2013/01/25/football-rice-krispie-treats/) with the parentals help for the "big game" tomorrow. My Youth are having a fundraiser and I am selling them to raise money for my mission trip this summer. Yay! Pics are below.
Next, I tried this recipe (http://www.texanerin.com/2012/04/grain-free-peanut-butter-chocolate-chip.html?m=1) which was interesting. Ha! It tastes more like cookie dough than cookies, and has that "healthy" taste to it. The consistency is what is a little off, plus it's not as sweet. You know what I mean! They were ok, though, as far as "good for you" goes. I liked them.
Next, I had to finish my signs for Youth stuff tomorrow and needed a Cricut cartridge from a friend. So, Mom and I went to get it. I drove!! We briefly saw my grandparents (both sets in ONE week!!). They were happy to see me and see that I was driving. We made a quick stop at WalMart on the way home. I needed something to plate my treats on. I also got a really cute shirt I'll probably wear tomorrow. Check for pics! I finished my signs and was off to bed.

Day 167
This morning I got up and got ready to go to work with Daddy. My grandparents left this morning and we said goodbye to them. I wore pants today for the first time since my skin graft (a weekish) and it was fine!! Great news because I'm not really a fan of skirts and dresses. By the way, I probably never will be. Ha!
Today I worked with a teacher and helped her with testing. It was interesting because the kids come to her and she helps them out. I liked it! Plus, I really love that teacher so it was fun!! We're hilarious. True story. Haha! When Dad, this favorite teacher of mine, and I went to lunch, I got bored in the car and took a pic of myself in the sunlight (which I'm still happy to see).
After school, we took Dad out for barbecue. We went to Spring Creek, of course. We met my sister and her boyfriend there. Check out the pic! He even got pecan pie!! Yum yum.
Now why did we go get barbecue you ask? Because today is the 30th anniversary of Dad's 22nd birthday!! Yeah, that's math. He's 2 jokers short of a full deck. Anyway, you know my Daddy is special to me. I might even go as far as to be called a Daddy's girl. My Dad is the most kind, logical, sweet, silly, funny, and random person I know!! He is always there to catch me when I fall and to make me smile so I feel better about it. We have inside jokes and are constantly laughing. He keeps me rolling! My Dad is the best because he raised my sister and me to be us. He puts his passion into everything he does; he gives it his all. He's pretty stinkin' amazing!! All this to say that I love my Daddy so much and am so incredibly blessed to have him in my life. I love you, Poopity Poopster!! Happy birthday!
Now we are watching movies to end Daddy's birthday!
